For Personal Trainers
I have set this page up to help trainers. I am surprised, and flattered, by the number of trainers who ask my advice and assistance with setting up their boot camps and personal training businesses.
Many of these enquiries come about because of my involvement with Sure Results: The Ultimate Book of Boot Camp Workouts and my participation in forums such as Fitness Bootcamp Innercircle, Personal Trainer Success and Fitness and Lifestyle.
I thought I'd share with you the publications I have bought that have helped me establish my business. As with anyone entering a new area I have made many mistakes – some of them expensive ones! I have bought books and software programmes that have been too basic or inappropriate for my business or haven't shared my ideas regarding sensible eating etc. Whilst I think it's good to read and listen to a broad spectrum of ideas and attitudes I'm not going to recommend them here!
The ebooks I have bought include:
The printed books I have bought are numerous! The ones I use on a regular basis and would strongly recommend are:
- Strength Training Anatomy – Delavier
- Atlas of Skeletal Muscles – Stone & Stone
- The Game Plan – Steve Bull
- Pocket Atlas of the Moving Body – Mel Cash
- Optimum Sports Nutrition – Dr Michael Colgan
and the one that started me on this journey in the first place....... a beast of a book:
- The Complete Book of Personal Training - Brooks
As I find new books I will be sure to add them here.
For my own personal development I have also bought, and followed to the letter, Dax Moy's Magic 100 a fantastic book for realising your goals.
I hope this is helpful but if I can help in any other way please do not hesitate to contact me at maggie@seabreezefitness.co.uk
